On September 19, 2023, ADVI’s Lindsay Bealor Greenleaf, vice president and head of policy, shared her thoughts on anticipated healthcare premium spikes and President Biden’s new proposed rule meant to push insurance companies to increase their coverage of mental health treatments.

In the article, Lindsay states, “In plain English, health plans will create new hurdles for patients to access services, or drugs and devices. This could be not covering certain things, or it could be new barriers like prior authorization requests where the physician has to fill out a bunch of forms and sit on the phone for hours with insurance companies until they get authorization for something.”
