Tara Southwell, JD

Tara brings to ADVI more than 17 years of experience working in government affairs and stakeholder alliances. Most recently, she was at AbbVie where she focused on oncology and HCV-related federal and state policy issues as well as a variety of broader industry-related topics.  In her role, she advised internal stakeholders, including market access and commercial teams, on policy changes impacting both patients and the industry.  She also worked with third-party patient and provider advocates on issues of aligned interest to develop and execute large-scale campaigns to drive policy solutions aimed at expanding patient access to innovative medicines.

Tara earned a JD from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Montana State University.
